The Springs Resort is a resort in transition. It is getting better all the time. The old buildings are being remodeled and updated and new buildings are being built.
The hot springs have been expanded with the addition of five new pools. There is also a new swimming pool, which the kids seem to favorite.
And they even have plans to offer movies on a large screen while you soak. It is a nice family friendly place. The staff is all friendly and helpful with information on the local activities and restaurants... The hotel has separate buildings, old and new. The new building houses the "luxury suites" area. The large modern rooms are lavish and comfortable, complete with TV and sitting area. There are quality amenities, shampoo, soap etc in the bath, coffee maker, stocked pricey mini bar, microwave, bar sink.
The new rooms are much nicer. You don’t smell the sulfurous from the hot springs.Evening musical entertainment is provided on occasion in the central lobby and bar area.
The grounds are lovely and nicely laid out. They lit a fire in the large firepit at each night above the Pools. They also provide towels and robes for the short walk to the hot springs. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate as well as cold drinks are also provided at the bath house.
If you are looking to spend a good amount of time in a hot spring this hotel is probably the place to stay. But, if you can’t book a room in the new buildings, don’t book. For the price you want and deserve the best.
These are the most unique hot springs pools in Colorado with the most therapeutic waters. They are high in sulfur, and you can smell it on yourself when you get out. I recommend you hit the swimming pool for awhile after the hot springs, and then take a shower when you get back to your room.
The pools are spotless. Smooth, concrete lined with no sharp edges. New water constantly flows in and out of the pools, so the staff regularly checks the temperatures. And they are cleaned daily.
The pools and layout are amazing. The hot spring pools are terraced, overlooking the San Juan River. Each pool has a name sign with the water temperature, you are sure to find the perfect temperature.
In the late evening after the crows have left, things get very quiet, peaceful, and you have it pretty much to yourself.
