Colorado Wineries - The West Elk Wine Tour

On the south side of Grand Mesa, you will visit the highest vineyards in the world. The vineyards are planted at elevations between 5000 and 7000 feet. Although most of the wines are produced from grapes, some are fruit wines.

The West Elks American Viticultural Areas (AVA) surrounds Paonia and Hotchkiss along the North Fork of the Gunnison River.

The area is rich in history, scenic beauty, and the production of world-class wines.

Along the West Elk Wine Trail you will truly find that the mountain wine makers are creating new blends with great results. You are sure to find a favorite or at least have fun trying.

Many restaurants in the area serve local wine. But you will have more fun on a wine tour.
